Top Shagger (WIP) - The Hope Theatre

New writing by Paddy Linton and Directed by Hetty Hodgson the sound design in this 1 man show acted as a second character. The world of the play allowed the sound to cross genres and be informed mostly by each scene from the club to the gym to a cheesy 2000's rom com dream sequence. This culminated in a choreographed set piece as our main character faces a trial that is part courtroom, part MMA ring.

Written by Enda Walsh this production by Disaster class and Directed by Charlie Rider, this Absurd play set in a mental hospital was a larger technical challenge. As well as the soundscape, there is also a character called the "drummer" written in to underscore the entire play. We opted to not only have him play live drums but also added an SP404 sampler with recordings we made throughout the rehearsal process, so he eventually became a 1 man band.
